February 29, 2024On the 8th of February, a day filled with Grace, Joy, and Gratitude, the FMM Sector Indonesia, and particularly the Emmaus Community, celebrated a momentous occasion. Four young women were formally accepted as FMM Pre-Novices, marking a significant step in their spiritual journey.
Their journey began with immersive experiences alongside FMM Sisters in communities across Flores, Jambi, and Jakarta. Later, on August 5th, they became part of the Emmaus Community, where they continued their formation as Candidates, preparing themselves for entry into Pre-Novitiate.
Prior to their admission, the FMM Sector Indonesia arranged for a 3-month English course in Bandung to enhance their skills.
Upon returning to Bogor, they engaged in experiences within the school environment, interacting with students, teachers, and other staff members on a daily basis.
The acceptance ceremony, although simple, was filled with profound wisdom and attended by FMM Sisters, some family members of the new Pre-Novices, and invitees.
Sr. Vera Veronica, FMM, a Regional Council member of the Trinity Region for the Indonesian Sector, presided over the ceremony, officially receiving the Pre-Novices. All four young women radiated joy and a sense of purpose.
Sr. Maria Goretti Ledeng, FMM, led the ceremony and emphasized in her reflection that God’s Call is a grace bestowed upon the chosen ones, urging them to live their vocation faithfully.
The celebration continued with a shared meal in the hallway of the FMM Immaculate Conception community in Bogor, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The ceremony concluded with joyous dancing together, symbolizing the unity and happiness of the occasion.
On behalf of the new Pre-Novices and the Emmaus community, gratitude was extended to Sr. Judith Yuen, FMM, the Regional Superior, and her Councils, including the two Regional Councils of the Indonesian Sector, as well as to the FMM sisters, families, and invited guests for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Their presence and assistance have been instrumental in facilitating this moment of grace. With prayers and continued support, it is hoped that these four sisters will continue to grow stronger in their vocation as FMMs.
Signed, Sr. Lilia Widyawati Turut, FMM Bogor, 12th February 2024
